The PGTI who has been all support for Standard Chartered Open 2012 has proudly presented the tournament at the Royal Colombo Golf Club in Sri Lanka. It has been a worthwhile effort since it has given a chance to almost 81 players to prove their mettle. They are playing for the prize money of 50,000 dollars. The Sri Lanka National Golf Team presented six amateur players in the opening rounds. Abhijit Singh Chadha finished the day as one of the top most leader noard shooting 6 under par round of 65 belongs to India. Earlier this year, he had also won the overseas PGTI event namely the Surya Nepal Masters.
Vinod Kapur said thanks Shiv Kapur for giving him the suggestion to play in excellent conditions of this particular PGTI event. He is looking forward to play at other upcoming events. The local star Anura Rohana won the last week’s PGTI Player’s Championship ended with three shots off the lead on 68, the score that he had shared with Indian player Shamim Khan. Rohana was very excited to play this event in Sri Lanka on his home course and he was very excited after winning the last tournament. The score could have been better if she scores more than 68 but it was a good score.
Mithun Parera who was a regular PGTI player along with Anura had a lot of pressure to give a good performance on the home ground and finish off with a good position at the end of the tournament.
